It may be of Filipino descent, not pre-Hispanic origin. Also, technically, mazcal, tequila, bacanora, and raicilla are the same, since they come from the same plant family. Finally, mezcal wasn’t born in Oaxaca; it was in Colima or Jalisco😱☝
